HELMUT VON FINCK'S
GESTÜT PARK WIEDINGEN

The young Gestüt Park Wiedingen is located in the heart of the Lunenburg Heath in the northern part of Germany. The land was acquired by Helmut von Finck in 2000 and has since been the birthplace of numerous highly successful thoroughbreds. Since 1989, von Finck has been passionate about breeding thoroughbreds, and success was immediate once he started with a few high quality mares and paired them with nationally as well as internationally recognized stallions. Top long-distance runner FLAMINGO PARADISE, Group 1 winner WAKY NAO, and DIANA-winner FLAMINGO ROAD are only a few among the successful horses bred by Helmut von Finck.
The first crop in 2001 already produced stakes runners QSAR and KOONUNGA HILL as well as Pepples Beach, dam of the Group winner PRAKASA. The following years gave rise to great joy and pride with successful runners in the stud's own colors, among them multiple Group winner PRECIOUS BOY, long-distance crack FLAMINGO FANTASY and classic winner KALI.

Buyers of horses bred at Gestüt Park Wiedingen have had reason for happy smiles, too: FEUERBLITZ, winner of the Italian Derby 2012; QUELLE AMORE, winner of the prestigious Schwarzgold race, a German classic for fillies; and Flamingo Sea, dam of the winner of the Irish Derby 2008, FROZEN FIRE – all very successful products of the stud's breeding.

A calm oasis of peace, the stud is nestled into 80 hectares of woodland with several small ponds, more than 30 hectares of pastureland, and a total of 50 box stalls. Young horses are started here and receive their first workouts on a 10-furlong turf- and dirt track.
